Clean and Organize My Kitchen with Me!

Clean and Organize My Kitchen with Me!

Hello again, my beautiful friends! I pray you’re all doing well! Today, I decided to tackle an area of my home that has been put off for forever: My kitchen!! Now, I love order, and it's not like me to go on for months with an unorganized kitchen, but we had an electrical fire in our old apartment building that led to us being frantically rehoused in a very hectic manner, and doing so with two kids...we just never quite settled in!

Today, I am showing you before and after photos of my kitchen cupboards and fridge in order to spark some inspiration, motivation, and quite frankly, to just GET IT DONE. Please let me know your thoughts in the comments below, including what you may have added, or changed! Thanks for reading!

The first cupboard I reorganized holds our glassware, mugs, waterbottles, paper plates, and straws. My goal was to keep the items we use most often on the bottom/most easy to reach shelf. For us, that's our glassware, kids ware, and I know it may be weird but we keep my son's toothbrush and toothpaste here as well for easy-access-brushing after dinner. (Every night, I brush his teeth after dinner in the kitchen, rinse the toothbrush, put it back, and he's off to bed!) I put mugs and waterbottles on the middle shelf, which is still relatively “easy to reach.” Way up at the top went the paper plates, bowls, and straws that we still hadn’t used since we first moved in.

The display shelves over the sink were my most challenging task...What should I be displaying? No...really, I’m asking YOU, haha... What on earth should I be displaying? I grabbed some greenery from another area in our home, along with some special momentos, and Bible verses that I could look at while doing dishes. I then put our French presses for easy grab access, along with some decor from my mother for our engagement and wedding! Up top, I put a large bowl... Yup...an empty bowl. Anyone have any other ideas?

The next cupboard contains, for easy reach on the first shelf, our plates and bowls! The next shelf has some larger plates, bottles, and a sharp appliance I like to keep out of reach from my children! The top shelf contains a basket of vitamins and colloidal silver. My husband is on top of it, everyone, haha!

Above the microwave is where we decided to put our tea and coffee. A little crazy, and seemingly out of reach? Well, my husband and I are tall enough to reach it, and there is a lot of tea and coffee! Above that is a lovely vintage tray, and my tupperware filled with cards. (We save money by ordering all sorts of cards from Amazon at bulk so we don't go broke for birthday cards, thank you cards, etc.)

The last shelf on the right was my messiest! All of our spices are located on the front shelf. I put our most used spices on the left, and our least used on the right! I think we will enjoy this method because there are so many spices to sift through, and I think this makes it easier to locate what we're looking for! The middle shelf was used for sauces, vinegars, oils, as well as our containers of sugar, pink Himalayan sea salt, and seeds. Again, I placed our most used items up front. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE to bake, but since it's not an every day event, the flour, vanilla, baking soda, and all the other baking ingredients went alllllll the way up top!

Below this cupboard we store some pots and pans up top, and below that we store all of our bakeware, and our hand mixer. (I store our most used pots inside the oven for easy grabbing, and less searching!)

Directly left of the stove we actually have three stacked drawers. I put silverware in the first drawer with measuring spoons, and easy access to syran wrap, foil, and parchment paper. The middle drawer holds a ton of zip lock bags, and extra materials for when we run out. The bottom drawer hold cutting boards, cookie trays, and tupperware.

OH boy, that's one crazy fridge. We have been traveling a total of three weeks this past month so you understand why it's gotten so crazy! I love cleaning out our fridge, and what a difference today made! Of course, first things first, I got rid of all of the leftovers gone bad... Shame, shame, but mainly this happened because of all the time spent out of the house.

In the end, I was able to declutter the following which included alot of close to empty containers, misplaced items, or old leftovers from the fridge!
