My Go-To Homeopathic Medicines for Me and My Family!

My Go-To Homeopathic Medicines for Me and My Family!

Happy February friends, and welcome to another Monday blog post! I hope you’re all feeling well today! My family and I are fully recovered after an unfortunate start to the new year. My kids were both sick with runny noses, and mucous-filled coughs for most of January. It didn’t help that my 11 month old was already dealing with discomfort from teething. Thankfully, they were in pretty good spirits, and my 2 1/2 year old was just excited to “finally be sick,” haha!

They both recovered without modern day medicine or antibiotics, which I’m not against, and am very thankful for! However, I always try homeopathy first, which has worked so great for us that we haven’t had to try anything else! (Homeopathic medicine is based on the belief that the body can heal itself using natural substances.) I’m so thankful to God for the good health that my children have had thus far, and for the homeopathic meds which we use right at the start of symptoms! Being that we just got over sickness using many of these, I’m excited to share the ones we always have on hand in the clickable links below! ENJOY!

BIG DISCLAIMER: I’m NOT a medical professional, and every parent should fully research all medicine prior to giving it to their children! I’m simply a mom on a mission to help other moms by sharing the great experiences I’ve had researching/using these homeopathic medicines. Please do your own research prior to use! Thank you :-)

Garden of Life Raw Probiotics Kids

Since our young children’s gut flora is still developing, adding probiotics to their daily regimen allows for building up their immune system, and aiding with digestion! The above probiotic is our favorite, and it comes in powder form. Both my 11 month old and almost 3 year old take this daily! I give it to them by spoon, and it must taste good because they both go CRAZY for it! My kids take this day and night when sick.

Gaia Herbs Black Elderberry Syrup

Elderberry syrup is a great remedy for cold and flu, and my kids love the taste! My kids take this by spoon daily, and we increase to twice a day when they are sick! However, be sure NOT to use elderberry syrup WITH HONEY for your children under 1 years of age to avoid botulism! The product I listed above does not contain honey.

Carlson Kid’s Norwegian Cod Liver Oil

Cod liver oil is an excellent source of Omega 3s, Vitamin A & D3. Both my children take this daily by spoon, and love it! The bottle also has instructions for increasing serving size when sick.

Herb Pharm Kids Orange-flavored Echinacea (alcohol free)

For kids!

For adults!

This Echinacea is wonderful for immune system support and fighting sickness like colds, or the flu! Using the dropper, we add it to our son’s water as instructed upon first noticing symptoms, and we have found it to work really well! He also drinks his water without any complaints so I’m guessing it tastes great too!

Lil Critters Organic Complete Multivitamin

In order to keep our son’s immune system strong and healthy, we give him these organic gummy multivitamins. Instructions for daily dosage start at 2 years old. My kid is constantly asking me for these, but one a day does the trick!

NOW Sodium Ascorbate Vitamin C

We do not give our children this Vitamin C on the daily, but they do get natural vitamin C from fruits and vegetables. When sick, this is a powder that my son will take from a spoon, or in his water twice a day. Our 11 month old will also daily take this from a spoon when sick, and then I will immediately breastfeed her after!

Colic Calm Homeopathic Gripe Water

Colic Calm…how can I ever repay you?! When my son was a newborn, he experienced a lot of gas due to my high dairy intake which I quickly changed. However, during the time that he was very gassy and inconsolable, this gripe water never failed to do the trick! This is known to instantly help relieve gas, colic and upset stomach in babies. They even immediately sleep better after taking this via the dropper shown in the picture above! A quick warning that gripe water does stain, and it’s black so just be careful upon administering.

Boiron Camilia Teething Relief

I’m currently sleep training my 11 month old daughter! This homeopathic medicine for teething relief gives me the greatest sense of peace since I want to ensure she’s not experiencing any discomfort from teething during her training! Your twist the cap, and pour the liquid into your baby’s mouth. My daughter personally loves it, and it’s clear she wants more every time!

Sambucol Black Elderberry tablets (Cold & Flu Relief)

This is elderberry in dissolving tablet form used to fight the cold and flu. It gives FAST temporary relief for nasal and sinus congestion, runny nose, sore throat, coughing, sneezing, chills, and fever! The box claims this product is for the whole family,* but that you should consult your physician if you are administering to a child under 3. My 2 year old son has taken these tablets on two different occasions, and we noticed a great difference in his health! *As you will notice in the instructions, you don’t want to exceed a certain amount of tablets in one day!

Boiron ColdCalm (Cold Relief)

This box instructs you to ask a doctor prior to use in children under 3 years of age. Our son took this earlier in January, and we noticed a great improvement in his symptoms. It aids in cold relief for symptoms like sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion, and minor sore throat! It’s also non-drowsy! :-)

Oscillococcinum dissolving pellets (Flu-Like Symptoms)

Ask your doctor prior to use for children under 2 years of age! These quick-dissolving pellets fight body aches, headaches, fever, chills and fatigue! They are non-drowsy, no drug interactions, safe for Ages 2 & up, and work naturally with your body. We used these for my son when he was 2 years old, (the one time he had a fever), and they relieved his symptoms wonderfully! Since then, we’ve always had them on hand, and even take them ourselves!

White Egret Garlic Oil

This past January, when my daughter was sick, her doctor thought she may have been battling a possible ear infection. Being that our doctor knew I preferred homeopathic medicine, she recommended I drop this garlic oil in my daughter’s ear 2-3 drops/twice a day. I did, and noticed a quick recovery. Even though she smelled like straight up garlic for days, it was worth it!

Seven Minerals Migraine & Headache Magnesium Spray

My husband and I use this spray for when we have headaches or migraines, and all I can say is…WOW! It’s not often I get a migraine that can last for a while, but when I do, I need to get back to feeling myself FAST. After using this magnesium spray, (I spray on the area of distress: temples, forehead, or neck), I get instant relief, and I’m here for it!

Sovereign Silver Immune Support

Colloidal Silver is also known to be great for immune support, and this bottle supports adults, and children 4 years, and older. Some say it’s a natural antibiotic, or antiviral, but there’s also a lot of controversy on whether, or not that is true. I add the recommended serving size of to our water at the first sign of sickness hitting!

Thank you so much for checking out my go-to homeopathic meds that my family and I use! Have you tried any of these before? Are there any other Homeopathic medicines that you like to use instead? Leave them in the comments below, and us mama will check them out!

Just a friendly reminder to practice good hand washing, covering your mouth when you cough, and not bringing you, or your kids out in public (even to parties/or family gatherings) when you, or they are very sick, or contagious. This truly is an act of courtesy that ensures we all keep our germs to ourselves, and don’t expose any unnecessary sickness to anyone else. :-) Love to you all, and I pray continued good health for you and your families! Feel free to share with a friend, and I’ll see you back on Monday’s blog post!
